Oooo a Sparkley!

Had the best day yesterday! Bobby and i made breakfast together (at 11, yummy, sleep and food!) and i am the master of toast for fried eggs! Then we ran a couple errands and Bobby "happened" to stop by a park we used to go to and sit in the sun to talk when we were first dating. I was so excited cause it was possibly the last nice day of the year and we even had the same blanket we used to use! Crazy huh? So after he dumped the blanket on my head, Bobby asked me to lead the way to one of our favorite spots. We set out the blanket and get all burritoed up in it when he asks me to tell him a story about what i remember about this place, so i tell him about the first (or close to the first) time we went there, he adds some rememberies too and holds me close and kisses me and i feel him slip this (see below) onto my hand! He even got the right finger! I get all smily and kinda wig out and kiss him a bunch more and he says, "will you marry me?" and being the dork that i am i make him say it again cause it sounds so nice and then i answer with a big YES!!

So that's the story and here are the pictures...

The End of an Era

And so our softball season has ended. I'm ok with that. It was sweaty and scary and dusty and so fun! I even got to play more than one position! Here are some of my memories...

Explosion Bringing the Neighborhood Together

A couple of weeks ago, Bobby and I were minding our own business up in the office messing around on our computers and listening to the periodic police sirens passing when i noticed that the last siren wasn't fading away. Strange, i wonder where its going? so i looked out the window to watch it pass and a lady across the street was waving to a firetruck that was pulling up outside! What the ?

Not only was there a fire truck there were about 5 police cars parked along the street spanning up and down from the house, a few moving to block off the ends of the street and an ambulance pulling around the corner!

Turns out a woman across the street heard an explosion in her laundry/utility room and called 911. I think the scariest thing was how fast the firemen and officers were running to the house, some still pulling their gear on!

All the neighbors came out to watch and the few that were asked to leave their houses until the officers figured out what was wrong sat down to camp out in front of our mail boxes. I don't think i'd ever met this many of my neighbors before (is that sad?).

In the end they figured out that it was a combination of a blown out pilot light in the furnace leaking gas and a bug bomb the lady had just put in her laundry/utility room to kill some spiders. The flame from the bug bomb ignited the excess leaked gas and BOMB, hole in the floor! Nothing else was damaged and everything was stable. Oh good! But what an exciting day!

Do Old People Move in Packs?

I swear they do! I went to KFC for my lunch break today and i was head and shoulders above a sea of old people! They were in the line ahead of me, and filling up the line behind me and all the people at the tables where old too! I'm 5'9", wearing a black skirt and heals in a shuffling mob of white hair. I didn't just stick out i stuck out! Maybe they were having a special or something and advertised for oldies ;)

Holy Crap, Guns are Loud!

'Scuse my u-tard in the title but thats the toned down version of what went through my head when Bobby and our friend Alex took me shooting for my very first time back in mid May. It was awesome! I shot a 9mm Glock twice and the adrenalin was pumping! Bobby thought i shouldn't be done till i finished the clip though so i guess i had to shoot all the rest out ;) I really could have been done at 2 though and when i was finished my hands were shaking but i was smiling! The boys couldn't not laugh at my squeals the first few times. Ha, like they weren't doing that too their first time shooting. Maybe in their heads though :)

I swear i'm not old!

So, i'm movin on with my life, going back to school, finishing up my degree and yesterday was my first day back. Wa-hoo! Getting used to being a student again is going to be interesting though. You see, it isn't that my philosophy teacher gave us homework on the first day or that my English teacher wears wranglers and talks like a surfer but something in the hallways looked kinda odd, different than i remember... holy crap, when did high schoolers start going to college! So many people i passed looked like they were 16! I swear i'm not that old but i was wondering if there was a visiting school or something (this is what college is like boys and girls, and when you grow up you can come here too!) cause there is no way college students are that young! Ah well, maybe i'll be the intriguing older woman ;)

Ha! And i liked it!

So, i didn't write about last weeks softball game cause i hated it so much. Not because the other team was jerks (they were pretty nice) and not because we lost (which we did) but because i felt like a total uneducated klutz! The game was so close that we went into overtime and we played so hard but i just seemed unable to aid in the kicking of the other teams butts. We lost by 1 point. I guess i know that it wasn't my fault, i'm not the only player on the team, but my heart sure wasn't believing my head :-)

Now, let me tell you about last nights game! We won (which is always nice but still not the point) and had fun! I was up to bat 3 times and swung at at about half of them! Didn't get on base but i felt more comfortable up there "in the box". Apparently practicing helps or something ;-) Bobby's been an awesome coach, he will repeat anything and tells me when i'm being a scardycat. He also give good feedback and kisses, wait, separate thougths ;-) Anyway, everyone was relaxed and having a good time just playing with friends, just the way i like it! Oh and my parents showed up about half way through, kinda cool, kinda like i'm 12 again but still not to bad. It was awesome for them to get to hang out with all the people i hang out with!
We also got our team uniforms! I think the color is called turquoise, an unexpected choice but i look good in anything so i'm not worried (ha ha). My official number is 3. I'm pretty happy!
